About

The BA Café was launched at the very beginning of the first Belgian Corona lockdown on April 3rd 2020. Informal social contacts at the coffee corner, during lunch break and at after-work apéros were being replaced by their online counterparts. In the same spirit, IIBA Brussels Chapter decided to host an online “Café” to engage its community during the lockdown.

Quite a few curious participants joined that first session and from then on, a BA Café was held every Friday at lunchtime, almost without interruption.
Now that the lockdowns are over (for the time being) and people have returned to the workplace at least part-time, one might think that the engagement for an online, informal meeting place has declined. Our BA Café, however, proves otherwise. Each week we can count on regular visitors as well as new guests. This shows that the changed context has not impacted the bonds that have been forged over the last couple of years in the online BA Café.

From the very beginning, the BA Café has been visited by people from all over the world, from everycontinent except Antarctica and still today, most continents remain represented. The group's topics are always spontaneously generated and tend to be very diverse. And no, we don't always talk about business analysis wink. The BA Café is like a virtual pub where people can talk about anything and everything, and with that little extra i.e. all guests share an interest or passion for business analysis.

Inspired by a successful “Special Edition” at the BA&Beyond 2020 Conference, the Brussels BA Café will now also be hosted at a number of international business analysis conferences. This will take a hybrid form where you can chat in-person with other attendees at the conference as well as with people that participate online.
