Shaping tomorrow - Is sustainability any of my business?

Sustainability is increasingly becoming everyone's concern. It is prominently emerging in both business and digital spaces - from increasing regulations, to strategic planning, and sustainable IT practices. New technology, such as AI or blockchain, brings a lot of opportunities, however it also comes with environmental costs, e.g. high energy consumption, which should not be overlooked. At the same time, we are facing increasing resource scarcity, caused by e.g. hardware disposal, which should on the contrary be captured and re-utilized.

What can you, as a business analyst or business architect do today, to act on sustainability concerns in your organization?

IIBA, since the very first edition of the BABOK in June 2006, had defined four categories of Business Analysis requirements, i.e. ‘business’, ‘stakeholder’, ‘solution’, and ‘transition’. It should therefore come as no surprise that the institute considers the concept of ‘sustainability’ so important that it recently dedicated a fifth category to it.

In this session, we will have three speakers who will address sustainability concerns from different perspectives. Ines Vanlangendonck and Morten Stender will introduce and elaborate on the digital and strategic side of it, which Stefan Bossuwé will link with the recently introduced BABOK sustainability requirements.

Whether you are a Strategic Leader, Business Analyst, Business Architect, or sustainability enthusiast – this session is for you. Join us and learn how You can take action!
